Love these! I highly recommend Landscapes of the Solar System by Aina bestard as a coffee table book for kids and adults. It's fascinating and beautiful and has cool overlay pages that my kid loves.

I just Googled this and wow! Any book with foldout and translucent pages is an instant hit around here. I also love the sleek cover--would be perfect for people who want kid-friendly books that look a bit more grown up:)

It is bizarre to think of someone else curating your coffee table books. I like your approach much better. I put the Bibliophile book that you gave me on our coffee table and love looking at it.

Should I buy this stupid birds book for Rob?

I love this concept! I'm going to dig out our more gorgeous child-friendly books to display on the coffee table. We have that Maps book and I LOVE it. Another awesome kids map book is Wild Maps for Curious Minds.

The cover is so beautiful! My daughter has recently gotten really into poetry and I just grabbed a whole stack of poetry books from the library (Some from Sarah Miller's amazing poetry lists) but hadn't considered adding a coffee table book. Perfect gift idea--thanks!

Love this list! My kids love these kind of books. They have been great for that stage when my kids were still learning to read independently--they feel "grown up," the pictures are engaging so it doesn't matter if they are reading the words, and it keeps them occupied for a long time.

Absolutely. I think being immersed in a book--in any way--helps kids find the JOY in reading!
